Introduction Welcome to Pilgrim Seminary. Our mission is to provide tuition free, high quality, post- secondary education to men and women who wish to prepare for pastoral ministry or for other vocations of Christian service.
The seminary offers three degrees: an Associate in Ministry. a Bachelor of Divinity (B.Div.), and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) which will begin in January of 2023. Pilgrim Seminary is somewhat unique in that we include undergraduate level courses in our program. There are several reasons for this. First, the traditional approach of training Christian leaders through four years of college and two or three years of graduate school has left graduating students with paralyzing debt and has not proven in recent years to be more successful than a well planned and executed undergraduate program which includes similar courses. Second, many pastors today and in the future will find the need to be bi-vocational in order to serve the congregations they feel called to serve or to plant new churches. Our program recognizes this need and provides educational opportunities through a cooperative arrangement with Myrtle Beach College for those who might find themselves in such a situation. Pilgrim Seminary is an incorporated South Carolina non-profit religious institution whose primary purpose is preparing Christian leaders to serve the church and the world. As an institution that offers only religious and theological degrees, the institution is exempt from oversight by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. The work of the seminary is overseen by a Board of Governors which is responsible for the institution's educational, operational, and fiscal integrity. Pilgrim Seminary admits students of any race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to the students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school programs. |
